The present catalogue is very interesting and introduces the original painter. His creative activity has been developing in very strange jumping intervals; during certain period, painter unintentionally collects emotions, impressions, energy – as if he tries out himself and then suddenly and spontaneously, he carries over all this at canvas, carton, or thick felt. The painter has unlimited fantasy in the research of materials and technology, but now he presented with quiet different, new and original technique before us. Painting with plasticine is the new word in Fine Art. Artist carries out the painting by hot rules; it means that instead of pigments is hot plasticine. This technology gives us the opportunity of various experiments during work, about color and painting technique. Genre is also found and chosen. Landscape gives the opportunity of artistic contemplation of reality, the proximity to Nature, and to see the unusual beauty in usual things.
,,Not creating, but discovering” – Most of landscapes of Davit Koiava is always connected with human mood, with spiritual displacements, often heightening romantically and sometimes bringing sorrows. ,,Nature without spirits” or ,,the dead nature” does not exist for painter; it is always talkative, alive, spiritual and humanized.
Sketch manner of painting, variations of color changeability and coloring gives effects to Landscapes. The artist puts the colors blending on palette upon carton so that it is perceived in organic, living unity.
The works of Davit Koiava is immediate and independent. It seems that he gave us the very impressions and emotions that he felt inside him by one breath and one brave stroke of the paint brush.
